This is the newly improved molded cover pad that was designed to fit Richardson 112 hats like a glove. 

This PlatenPad is deigned to fit on our original Branding Iron Dual Platen Hat Press and has also been designed to fit as an aftermarket upgrade for IQ360 hat presses!  Our new Branding Iron Edition 112 Hat Press ships with this PlatenPad as the default. 

This style works best for Richardson 112 hats and a variety of other popular brand which mimic the 112 shape.  Reference the graphic below:

Branding iron platen pad

#2 Platen Pad

Although I do not have a branding iron, I have a heat press nation signature series single platen heat press, I bought the #2 platen pad to fill the "void" between the bottom platen pad and the trucker style hats. I had to slightly modify the #2 platen pad in order for it to fit, but it functions exactly as I wanted and it alleviated the need for me to have to build up the lower platen with foam. Small investment to fix a headache, highly recommend!
